Supporting Sunnyvale Sunrise Club

On May 30th, our member, John Shannon, attended a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Sunnyvale Sunrise. It was the second of three Texas Hold ‘em Tournaments that the Sunnyvale Sunrise Club puts on to raise money for high school scholarships and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy) sponsorships for area students. Held at Holders Country In in downtown Los Altos, the event brought in over 20 good natured poker players from throughout Santa Clara County. Our guy, John, brought home the 3rd place award, presented here by Jim W, organizer of the event.

Epic Day of Service

Last Saturday, members of the Rotary Club of Campbell joined Rotarians from nearby clubs at West Valley College to take part in a project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Saratoga and District 5170. Rise Against Hunger is a program that allows volunteers to assemble ready to cook food packets of dried vegetables, soya meal, spices and white rice. The day long event had Rotarians working side-by-side with students from West Valley College, including members of the Swim and Water Polo Teams!

At days end, we had assembled 30,000 food packets to be distributed to needy families in third world countries.

Rotary Loves Rosemary

Hi Rosemary Crew,

The Rotary Club of Campbell has graciously purchased ~$1,000 worth of recess equipment for our school! We now have a ball cart, lots of equipment, whistles, cones, and more!

We will be setting up an “Equipment Crew” with our 4th and 5th graders soon. We plan to launch the new carts and equipment this upcoming Monday! Let’s hope we can care for the equipment and ensure that they all last as long as possible!

Thank you again Rotary Club of Campbell!!!
