The annual 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive, organized by Jerry Cummings and the American Red Cross netted a record number of donations this year. With donors coming from Robinson Oil, EMQ and even Campbell’s Lions Club, we were able to cross over the 50 pints mark. Several “walk-in” clients also helped us reach the record level of donations. Club member Neil Reid, in photo, was the ?rst member of our club to donate on Friday, and was the 2nd appointment of the morning. Other club members also were on hand to donate, including ?rst time blood donor, Delbar Jahanian. (See photos on page 2.) The whole process takes a little over an hour, including reading the educational information, going over your health history, actual donation (about 10 minutes) and then the rest time in the canteen. The ARC even gives you juice and cookies! And, you have the knowledge that you are helping to save lives right here in the Bay Area.
