Club President in the News

Congratulations to Dave Crowley, whose marketing prowess has landed our Club (and its President) in the news! The Willow Glen Resident was the first to hit the news stands, as mentioned in David’s RotaryDad weblog. Perhaps there will be mor to come.

Dist 5170 Governor Arlene Greenberg

District 5170 Governor Arlene Greenberg addressed our Club on Tuesday, July 26, presenting her vision and inspiration for Rotary for her 2005-06 gubernatorial year. She also participated in our Paul Harris Fellow ceremony and met with our Board of Directors in this annual marathon meeting.

Read more about Arlene at the District Governor‘s webpage.

Emergency Medical Transport

Today, we heard about life-saving medical transportation services coordinated by Leslie Montgomery, Gary Montgomery’s wife.

Leslie is a medical trama nurse by training and is currently one of six members of The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital emergency medical transport team. She flies helicopters and rides in ambulances over great distances to bring sick children to Stanford Hospital to receive critical medical care.

Her stories were simultaneously harrowing and tear-jerking.

New Features on RotaryCSJw

We’ve added a few extra features to our RotaryCSJw website, including a growing array of “Quick Member Resources” located in the upper right corner of every page.

Here’s a list of the additions:

Online Club Roster: The menu of member contact information expands after you click on it. Personal contact information is available, but requires a web password.

Completely revised Club Calendar that includes meeting topics, important dates, major events, mmber birthdays, and more. Our Calendar comes in two vies: Every page on the website now includes a list of upcoming Rotary Dates, and the Complete Club Calendar lists everything for the next 365 days. You can print out the whole list!

Local Rotary Links: Looking for another Rotary Club? Need to make-up a meeting somewhere else? This quick list of Rotary Links can help.

2005-06 Strategic Plan: Remember that stuff we talked about at our “Kick-Off Party” in early July. Here’s the Strategic Plan, in updated form.

Club News is also easier to find from these links … although, if you’re reading this, you’ve already found the latest news!

What is the “Partners in Rotary Service” Program?

“One of the gifts Rotary gives its membership is the ability to reach across boarders. Not just to help others, but to give ourselves unusual experiences and the opportunity for new friendships. If all of us could get on an airplane and travel overseas to conduct the business of Rotary, we would be different, and much more inspired humanitarians. Continue reading Partners in Service
