Led by management consultant Steven Popell, a team of counselors presented the concept of “Collaborative Divorce” to our club on Tuesday, December 14. The team included a financial specialist, a child specialist, and an attorney.
Collaborative Divorce is an alternative to a court-adjudicated process that attempts to inspire cooperation between divorcing spouses, promoting the best interest of children and other affected parties.
Thanks to everyone who helped organize our Food Booth at the City of
Campbell’s annual Carol of Lights tree lighting in downtown Campbell. Many
volunteers spent most of Sunday, December 6 helping, including Fred Meyer,
Jim Moreland, and Bill Highley. Lots of other Rotarians worked shifts to
set-up, serve, and clean-up. Together, we raised an additional $650 for
distribution to charitable organizations the club supports!
As part of our annual Holiday Party, our Rotary Club donated an exciting collection of toys for distribution to children being served by EMQ Children & Family Services, our weekly luncheon host. More than a dozen toys and games were donated, along with 10 stuffed animals and loveable bears. Thanks to everyone who brought a toy or donated cash to the effort!
Kathy Williamson introduced Marilyn Manies and Terri Spice, who introduced our club to this very like-minded service organization. The National Assistance League was formed in the late 1800’s, and the local chapter covering the west valley area (including Campbell) was chartered in 2000.
The Los Gatos – Saratoga chapter organizes several volunteer community projects, including classroom reading, senior activities, scholarship funds, and more.
